SEE NOR on this webpage. Launching is at Oconomowoc City Beach located on Wisconsin Av, 3 blocks West of Lake Street (324 W. Wisconsin Ave Oconomowoc, WI). Trailer parking will be at the launch but no overnight vehicle parking is allowed at the launch. 9:15 AM Saturday Skipper's Meeting via radio channel 71. First race is scheduled Saturday at 10:30. Expect 3 races Saturday and two on Sunday.

2020 LaBelle Yacht Club Wisconsin State MC Championship Regatta

Please click on the Register Now on the upper right to navigate to the online registration page at anytime. You will be able to register and pay for the event with a credit card on this website.  Launching is Friday from 4 to 8 PM or Saturday 7:30 am to 10:15.   Friday launchers stay for the free outdoor concert at the bandshell adjacent to the launch.  Great takeout available from restaurants a few blocks walk.  There will be no central regatta site due to Covid 19 restrictions and social distancing.  Each registrant will be assigned to a LYC MC member property and plan to drop your mooring for 4-15 feet of water in the area adjacent to the property.   Taxi boats will take u to and from your mooring.   All notices and warnings will be done via radio channel 71.   Due to Covid 19 restrictions there will be no communal food or drink as part of this regatta and no regatta headquarters.   Please bring a cooler with ice for your own drinks and food for the entire regatta.   Regatta fees apply to launch fees, trailer parking, porta potties at member sites and awards.

Eligibility The regatta is open to all MC skippers who sail on Wisconsin lakes. A boat may sail with a different sail number from its hull number if it registers with that sail number and competes with that number for the entire event. Each competitor must complete a registration and pay the required fees by close of registration. Trophy age requirements must be met before the first scheduled race.
Rules The races will be governed by the rules defined inThe Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
  1. The racing area will be the waters of Lac Labelle.
  2. The sailing instructions will consist of the instructions in RRS Appendix S, Standard Sailing Instructions, and supplementary sailing instructions that will be distributed at launch registration.
  3. VHF Radio Channel 71 will be used by the RC to communicate with competitors. Additional instructions regarding radio communication will be included in the SI’s.
  4. Safety Suggestion: MCSA encourages but does not require the use of masthead floats when conditions warrant their use.

Boat registration is $50 on or before June 22th or $65 if registered after June 22nd.
Scoring Five races are scheduled. The Low Point system, RRS A4 with apply, except that each boat's total score will be the sum of her scores for all races.This changes RRS A2.
Trophies
One race is required to be completed for the regatta to be official. At the conclusion of the regatta, keeper trophies will be awarded as follows.Awards will be based on her finishes in the overall fleet.

Launching & Moorings

Boats must be moored. Bring 18’ of line and anchor.  Each boat will be assigned to a Labelle MCer property for mooring, parking and meal that you bring yourself.   Unfortunately, social distancing recommendations will not allow a standard regatta so everyone should plan to bring their own food and drinks for the entire regatta.   We will limit each property to 6-9 people which should allow for safe social distancing.  All communication, skippers meetings and awards will be conducted via radio on channel 71.

Launching and regatta check-in will be at 325 W. Wisconsin Av Oconomowoc, WI. boat launch.  Set-up space is limited. If you are close or far from Lac Labelle, we welcome launching on Friday evening. Volunteers will be available to tow you to your mooring and to store your trailer during the regatta.
